The wine estate

Domaine du Parandou is located in the southern Rhône Valley, in the village of Sablet, near Gigondas and at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains.

The terroir

The village of Sablet is built on a sandy knoll, which gives it its name (in french “sable”, means sand). Domaine du Parandou cultivates 6 of the 300 hectares of this appellation. This is the main appellation produced by our estate, but we also produce a red wine from the neighbouring Gigondas appellation, as well as Côtes du Rhône and IGP Vaucluse.

The climate in our region is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters with little rainfall. The famous Mistral wind blows throughout the year, keeping the vines healthy and protecting them from disease.

The soils are sandy, clay-limestone, mixed with pebbles of varying sizes.

The vineyard

Our vineyards are around forty years old on average, with some plots over 70 years old. They give us the maximum benefit from the richness of our terroirs, thanks to their deep roots in the different soil horizons and their low yields.

Our 20 hectares of vines, made up of the oldest Côtes du Rhône grape varieties (Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, Syrah and Mourvèdre) are planted in 4 villages, giving our wines great diversity and aromatic complexity due to the different terroirs.

Our ambition is to promote the emblematic Côtes du Rhône grape variety, Grenache, so that our wines give us the best possible typicity.

Our philosophy

Our main aim is to achieve the greatest finesse and freshness in our wines by combining our know-how and expertise in the vineyard. Perfect knowledge of our different terroirs gives our wines the greatest aromatic complexity.

Mechanical operations on the soil and plants are kept to a minimum in order to respect nature as much as possible. We do not use irrigation in our vineyards, so that we can experience all the particularities of each vintage.

Since 2019, Domaine du Parandou has been HVE level 3 certified, a certification that guarantees good environmental and health practices in the day-to-day management of our estate.
